Happy 2013!!


Hi everyone!

Happy 2013! Hope your year is going amazingly well. 

First and foremost, please forgive me for taking so long to write.  So much has been happening in the past months. Here is a summary:

(1)  Panama will be represented at the Rose Parade 2014 by Banda Jose Daniel Crespo of Chitre, Herrera. Yay, super excited and proud. Here is a little taste as to what to expect on January 1, 2014.

And as of a month ago, the Panamanian government has extended its help to the band. Check out video below with the President donating money.

(2)  If you are living abroad and would like to be part of the Presidential Election 2014, guess what? You can! Please go to the Tribunal Electoral website at www.rere.pa to register no later  han April 23, 2013. Or, if you are having difficulties registering online, please contact your local Panamanian Consulate.

(3)  Calling all salsa dancers, this event is for you! Meñique, a salsa singer from Panama will be performing at The Granada in Alhambra, CA on Friday, April 19th.  See link below for more details and ticket information. See you there!

(4)  Do you love Ron Abuelo but can’t wait until you are back in Panama to buy it? Then no worries, you can now get it from “Hi Time Wine Cellar” in Costa Mesa, CA. Check link below for prices and information: http://www.hitimewine.net/search.phpmode=search&page=1

(6)   If you are interested in finding ways to support Panama in Los Angeles or to find out about various Panamanian events happening in Los Angeles, please be sure to check out the following sites: Viva Panama Organization at www.vivapanama.org and Panamanian Marching Band of California at http://www.pmbca.org/. On these websites you can find about Panamanian upcoming events, ways to support, etc. Check them out!

PS - In case you are wondering, the picture on the top is from Las Sirenas located in Santa Clara, Cocle. Such a lovely place! Too bad the property was sold and no longer will operate as a hotel.
